TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  To be determined by Administration and the Board of Trustees

 

JOB SUMMARY:  To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.   Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  2.   Any alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  3.   Possession of a valid Class C Wyoming driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.   Keep building and premises--including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas--neat and clean at all times.
  2.   Shovel, plow, and sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as needed.
  3.   Sweep classrooms daily; and dust furniture, including blinds, when needed.
  4.   Clean corridors after school each day; and, during the day when conditions require.
  5.   Clean and disinfect desks, tables, toilets, and floors daily; and, clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
  6.   Wash all windows, both inside and out, as often as may be necessary and weather permits.
  7.   Keep the grounds free of rubbish.
  8.   Perform grounds-keeping chores such as grass-cutting, tree-trimming, and flowerbed-tending to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
  9.   Clean all chalkboards/whiteboards daily.
  10.   Report the need for major repairs, damage, or unsafe conditions promptly to the Director of Custodial /Maintenance.
  11.   Remain on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized, and his/her attendance is required by his/her supervisor.
  12.   Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day; and, for determining before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured; and, all lights except those left on for security reasons, are turned off.
  13.   Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities; and, as directed by administration.
  14.   Comply with federal, state, and local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of supplies, trash, rubbish, and waste.
  15.   Help, as needed and necessary, at special events and activities.
  16.   Maintain custodial equipment and materials.
  17.   Work cooperatively with others.
  18.   Meet schedules and timelines.
  19.   Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  20.   Perform general maintenance duties as requested.
  21.   Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

DEMANDS OF THE JOB:

  1.  Ability to use a pickup truck, tractor, computer, two-way radio, cell phone, lawn mower, vacuum cleaner, snow shovel, hand truck, and similar equipment.
  2.  Lower body strength to stand/walk throughout the workday.
  3.  Upper body strength to lift 85 pounds and carry that weight 100 feet.
  4.  Balance strong enough to climb various ladders and scaffolding somewhat frequently.
  5.  Tolerance of moderate exposure to weather extremes from -40 degrees to + 110     degrees F.
  6.  Tolerance of frequent exposure to various airborne particles of sawdust, insulation,   abrasives, and common dust.
  7.  Tolerance of exposure to various supplies containing hazardous materials or chemicals.
  8.  Tolerance of exposure to bloodborne pathogens or potentially infectious materials.
  9.  On-call availability for minor and major emergencies.

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of support staff.
